A canadian with a few questions

Post by canadian101 » Tue Jan 06, 2015 2:55 am

hey! so my first time on this site. i'm from toronto and thinking about applying to the states for school. i had a few questions before i sent out applications. i'm deciding between:
1) UC Hastings
2) UCLA Epstein or standard J.D. program
3) Boston U
4) Northwestern

my strength are my EC's, personal statement, references... I went to U of T, which didn't make getting a high GPA easy.
what i'm looking for is a school that cares about community service and involvement, and not just looks at numbers. also, i hope to attend a school that's more social justice orientated than corporate, for example.

PS!! i have very little knowledge of american schools, so please send any suggestions you may have on other law schools that may be more suited to be my type.

thanks a ton

Are you interested in living and working in the states forever? It's very difficult to get back into Canada with a US JD.

http://www.lawstudents.ca is a great resource for Canadian students.

you're going to have a much better chance of outperforming your numbers at Canadian schools than American ones.
