Re: GW v Emory
My thought is you should retake because GW at sticker will leave you 250K in the hole with interest and Emory 150-175K. They don't place well enough to justify sticker price.mlblaw wrote: I know the TLS conventional wisdom is that neither are great for biglaw but I do not intend to retake and will be attending one of the two in the fall. Thoughts? Advice?
Why so averse to a retake?

Re: GW v Emory
couple things.
1. work during 1L and defray COL.
2. find a spouse or significant other with a job.
this way you won't need the extra 60k in COL loans. this is tremendous.
if you do 1 and 2, emory is a seriously live option. gw still isn't.
if you intend to take out greater than 100k in loans, then law school isn't for you. do something else. honestly? if i were left with those options, i'd bag law school, contact the IBEW, and figure out how to become an electrician where i want to live. before you think i'm being insulting to you, i have family in this line of work and have the utmost respect for the trade.
