Hey, I have heard that people at Cornell law are definitely not "nasty," but they are also not the kindest and most supportive that one can find at T-14. Can anyone who goes to Cornell just share some personal experiences with how you are finding Cornell? (Are you absolutely happy with the student body, etc?)
Thanks!

Are law students really all that nice anywhere?

You're going to have bad apples and odd folks at whatever law school you go to. I find it hard to believe that any t-14 law school's student body is going to be generally mean-spirited or unfriendly, though.

Re: Cornell law social atmosphere?
I've really enjoyed Cornell. I was a bit apprehensive, being a bit older than average, but I've found most people to be friendly and supportive. Naturally, I don't get along with everyone, but it seems like everyone has their own social group, in a way. Cornell is definitely a school where people work hard, and students who want to coast may be intimidated by their peers' work habits. That being said, I don't think it's more competitive than elsewhere. I've always found people more than willing to help with classes, exams, job search tips, etc. I have friends at other T-14s, and I don't think my experience is all that different from theirs. In fact, I think our school is more close-knit and collegial than the student body at most larger schools.
I've been more than happy with my choice, and pleasantly surprised at how much I've enjoyed living in Ithaca and attending Cornell. I understand living in Ithaca is not for everyone, but if you want more info to help you make a decision, feel free to PM me.
