I've always wanted to work in a public interest arena, and I've always felt that a career in the legal field was the best way to get there. Many systems in our country require the knowledge and credentials in a lawyer, and I would like to be a vessel to help people through various systems. Biglaw just isn't for me. I can only hope that if I do decide to pursue law school at this point in my life, that some doors will open along my path. I'm sure many doors will be slammed in my face, because hey, that's life - but I'm not looking for every door, just a few will do.
