Tulane (25K) v USD v Loyola (Los Angeles)

Post by gilliansaltz » Thu Mar 22, 2012 3:41 am

I am born and raised in SD, but I have no particular desire to stay in the area. I originally applied to USD and Loyola because they were close and I am familiar with the area, however, I applied to Tulane later because I had heard they had a decent reputation and were able to place people all over. After reading more posts it seems that you have to do very well in order to have a decent shot of being placed outside the southern region. Tulane is offering me money and I am hoping I will be able to get some out of USD but I don't know about Loyola. Money aside, I am not sure which school will offer me the best job prospects if location is not an issue. Advice would be much appreciated.

Job prospects from each of these schools is not going to be especially bright. If you're sincere about attending, you need to minimize debt through scholarships as much as possible. In addition, you need to decide if you want to work in California after law school. If yes, then there is no point in going to Tulane.
