New Options

Post by RaiderBlue17 » Mon Mar 05, 2012 5:01 pm

Ok so I asked before but a new option has come my way so here goes

Denver University with a 26K a year scholarship 3.0 Stip

UT Knoxville with in-state

SLU 20K a year 2.0 stip

Im not set on working in TN even though I've lived here for a WHILE... Just wondering if the 50/50 chance of losing my scholarship is worth the few Thousand a semester I could save at DU.

All help is greatly appreciated.

I'm not all that familiar with these schools, but in general I would say no, saving "a few thousand dollars" is not worth taking a 50/50 shot. Especially since it involves you moving out of state.

Where are you from?

SLU has a good rep in MO, but its a tough market to break into without ties. Most people around here went to Mizzou or SLU, but they also grew up here for the most part. I think people are very cautious about hiring people that came to St. Louis for no apparent reason.

If you have some tie to the area, the 2.0 stip is really nice. PM if you want to discuss SLU, I also got a big scholly from them and am considering it.

I'm from Tennessee but have no real connections to lawyers in TN... I think I know two lawyers and neither on a personal level.

I love the 2.0 stipulation but do worry where jobs will be and MAYBE the 3.0 stip at DU will push me further to try to get higher in my class. Yes I realize that EVERYBODY is as smart etc. but it never hurts to have a ANOTHER reason to push ones self.
