School for NY AND Florida

Post by sportsstar5 » Sat Jan 07, 2012 5:15 am

Hi,

Does anyone know of some good T2 and possibly T3 schools for practicing law in NY AND Florida?

Can a school like Hofstra, Buffalo, New York Law, Syracuse, University Florida - all accommodate someone interesting in both the NY and Florida marketing? Should I go to a public rather than state school for this, or does that not matter? I don't want to limit myself to one.

Also, do schools like this gear towards the NY bar or the Florida bar specifically? Would a NY state school focus on the NY bar? Or is the bar just a matter of studying after any law school?

Does practicing in a certain state itself matter just on passing the bar, or do schools really matter?

Thanks so much.

Pick which one you want to work in and go to school there.

The only schools that could offer what you are looking for are in the top 25, if that. T2 and T3 schools will be desperately regional in their placement power. You need to adjust your expectations accordingly.

One of my professors in undergrad had a JD from Hofstra and practiced in NY before practicing in FLA although she was probably an exception rather than a norm
