Cornell(?) vs WUSTL ($$)
So, this Q seems to get asked about once a year, but I'm curious to have some new opinions weigh in.
Cornell's kind of been my unabashed academic dream for many years now, and now that I've gotten in and it seems attainable, I'm actually having to think hard about my future for the next 3 years (at least just considering school).
Anyway, I have yet to send in all of my Aid info for Cornell, and am getting very mixed messages regarding their aid - many say they're stingy, yet some say they're pretty on par. FYI my wife and I are characteristically poor college students and my parents are lower-middle class, if that, so hopefully, NEED based aid will turn into something???
So, here's where I'm at: 24K/yr at WUSTL vs who knows at Cornell (I'm assuming worst-case of 0 I suppose). Thoughts?
As far as preferences go, I'm not entirely sure where I want to be. I've never had much of an affinity towards the midwest - more of a coastal guy, but I'm obviously entertaining the thought.
Hit me with those opinions! No amount of sarcasm or veiled criticism will go unheeded.

Thanks for the comments y'all. I'm pretty much set on Cornell - the relatives are just a tough sell.
They seem to think "Scholly@school = better choice, regardless of rank/placement". Oh well, good thing they're not paying the bills!

If WUSTL offers $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ (like a six-figure bonus for each of the next 5 years), then by all means give up on your dreams once you have nearly attained them.PinkCow wrote:Cornell's kind of been my unabashed academic dream for many years now
Otherwise, you know what to do. Congrats!

Cornell is the wiser investment for you--especially since you prefer the east coast & do not like the midwest.
