WUSTL has more a larger student body than all 4 of the other schools, and there are a finite number of fed and Art III clerkships to go around. You do the math.
I want you to think for a second about why that doesn't matter.

What is up with Davis and others' missing data?
Apparently Davis just submitted a photo of SBL's face in lieu of employment data.

Davis is 95.8% at graduation and 95.8% 9 months out. It outperformed its rank pretty well in that aspect.

Meaning if you weren't employed at graduation you are fucked even more than you would be at other schools.

So for those with the premium (tm) subscriptions, were there '09 clerking data?

All the stats are manipulatable, except basically the GPA/LSAT. US News is a crock of shit.

For the sheer lol factor, anyone notice Vanillanova's rank?

No. The 09 data is VERY limited.

Why, praytell, would judges hire more WUSTLers just because HORDES of unemployed WUSTL grads descend upon them? I don't think more WUSTLers are going to get more (numerically, not percentage-wise) clerkships from grads of other schools just because WUSTL has 5 or 6 more people in the top 10%. WUSTL used to be much smaller - the number of grads isn't proportional to the number of alumni out there. I'm not trolling for the school, I'm just telling you that I don't think that it's solely because of the TTT effect.

dude I knew they were doing that shit. last year they claimed 98% at graduation when that was really their 9 month rate. first, what are the odds that a mediocre school like Davis can place THAT well (~20% better than their 2003-2007 placement rates) in this bad economy? second, what are odds that the exact same set of students that are employed at graduation are the same set that is employed 9 mos. out?

shenanigans

this is the part where i seriously consider transferring back home to state school. am i really paying $40k/yr for 65% employment rate? and i love how all year the deans have been talking about how great things are looking, how emory is a mover & a shaker, blah blah blah. but i mean come on... 65%...
65% is pretty damn bad.
It s so bad out there that they couldn't pull any "magic tricks" to boost up their numbers.

It's good enough for USNews, but TLS poster General Tso has a hunch. The same hunch he gets every year when his school gets beat in a relatively meaningless ranking game. I guess this closes the book on that mystery.
