The rankings are pretty boring though. I thought US News would have a found a way to shake things up somewhat. But no, not really. The only really notable things are UT, Davis, and Wash U. While they don't really mean anything, they are interesting developments.
But these are the rankings that changed everything...
For some reason the ranking madness and new at-graduation employment figures make me want to just go into engineering.

Yea. It is boring. What I wonder what it feels like at UT and at Berkeley today, because let's face it, a lot of students are ranking whore. As with UT, USNWR finally grew a pair to try and shake up the traditional T14 a little bit.

Personally, rediscovering how cool I think computer science is makes me want to do that. Too late now though.

Why does Stanford have such low LSAT (167-173) and GPA (3.74-3.94) compared to its peers?

I'm half-joking here, but if everyone is juking the stats and gaming the rankings, aren't they back on a sort of equal footing?
I think of it like '90s baseball. Everyone's juicing but the cream usually rises to the top anyway.

To get your hopes up, have you apply, taking your $80 and padding admission numbers.

Ummmm, how are those low? Their GPA numbers are... (drum roll)... 3rd best of all schools. And their LSAT numbers are 5th best. Given their low acceptance rate, reputation scores, and employment stats, it seems that would position them pretty well to be... (drum roll)... ranked number 3!

Has anybody posted T25 (or whatever) clerkship placement data yet? I'd very much like to see it! Also, have medians been posted, or just 25/75?

Pardon my ignorance, but have peer assessment scores been done away with?

St. John's Law dropped from #72 to #95 (23 spots lower).
What could account for that change??

I have friends at St. John's, just based off their anecdotal evidence, things are pretty bad there employment wise. I've been told that nearly all big firms at OCI were there merely for resume collection. I didn't check the employment numbers, but that, coupled with low peer reviews, would seem to do the trick.

St. John's allowed a student to bring her cat to class. USNews didn't like that claiming it "destroyed the very foundation of Law School. the academic environment will never be the same after whiskers urinated in the middle of a torts class." The 23 spot drop may seem like a radical punishment, but USNews needs to uphold the professionalism of Law School. Without this, they would have nothing to rank. Although it may seem rather passive-aggressive, my 2L friend at SJU said the school has already changed their policy on bringing pets to class in order to gain their T75 spot back in the 2012 rankings.

As I posted in the St. John's thread:
The difference between the actual score of the 50th-ranking school and the score of the 95th-ranking school is a mere 8 points. To put this gap in perspective, the difference between #1 and #20 in the rankings is 29 points. This should illustrate what a crapshoot the ranking are outside of the T-40 or so, and how little meaningful difference between schools there is after a certain point. So there was little change to St. John's bottom line.

What the fuck does a point even mean? Nothing. Literally nothing. Nothing about USNews actually measures how good a school is.
Though St Johns is a raging TTT.

Yeah, thing is, even if people wanted to buy into USNWR, they could see that by the rankings' own point system, they're relatively meaningless after a certain point. That's why schools like Hofstra, Seton Hall, Syracuse, St. John's are all over the place

Miami dropped like a mofo. What a surprise. Really, their class size isn't quite as high as GW or GULC, but it's close. I have no idea what jobs they're getting beyond top 10%. Miami's like the USC of...Miami--it's network stretches across a couple counties but it has nowhere near the stranglehold. UF/FSU for those who want to stay in FL and stay cheap.

Things I care about that nobody else does:
UB gets ranked higher than Syracuse.
Hm, do I pay 20k or 45k for a regional WNY law school?
Take that, SU.
