JG my friend, you are reading far too deeply into my relatively light comments. I play basketball to blow off steam, to stay level. I probably shouldn't have any problem finding places to play basketball in NYC, but I'll gladly fish for firsthand accounts where I can get them. It's a minor but important part of my life.
What I've taken from this thread is that directly weighing the pros and cons of each school against one another is probably not the best use of my time, because both schools are quite similar -- similarly strong faculties, similar job prospects, similar student life options. Ultimately, school will be what I make of it, and both schools offer a tremendous range of opportunities. My best plan of attack is to attend admitted students days at both schools, get a feel for the student body, incoming classmates, and campus/neighborhood, and decide which I feel more comfortable with.
Think I missed anything? Other factors to be aware of? Thanks again for the input.
