Should I Sit Out a Year?
I only applied to four schools--Ohio State, Case Western, Capital, and Cleveland State (I want to stay in Ohio, obviously). When I applied to these schools, my highest LSAT score was a 152.
I got deferred by OSU, waitlisted at Cleveland State, and accepted into Capital. Case, however, emailed me and encouraged me to take the June LSAT to bring up my score.
On the June test, I got a 158. That is only one point below Case's median and my GPA is .25 over their median. LSP has me as a "strong consider". Unfortunately, I still haven't heard anything from Case and time is winding down fast.
I have toured Case and love the school and the surrounding neighborhood. It is also a much better school than Capital and has a much better reputation outside of Ohio.
So, here is my dilemma: should I just suck it up and go to Capital (private T4 school located in Columbus), or sit out a year and re-apply to Case, OSU, and several other schools?
Thanks for your help,
AVB

Retake, reapply.

Sit out a year. During that year, study for LSAT again and retake (for giggles). Get some work experience, and apply on the first day of Case's cycle next year.
Do not go to Capital.

Re: Should I Sit Out a Year?
I have already taken the LSAT 3 times, so a retake is out of the question. Sorry for not mentioning that in the original post.

FYI, this will be among the more overwhelmingly lopsided polls on TLS.

Well, even if you can't retake it's still worth it to sit it out and reapply. With that big of an LSAT improvement your cycle is likely to go much better this time around.
Edit: If you get your apps in early! Apply as early as possible.

Case's median gpa is 3.36, so you've got a 3.5 and a 158. If you apply early next year, you could get in Case. If not, I'd say take another close regional school, such as Penn State (which you'll get in) over Capital.

Then you've got a good shot at Case and University of Cincinnati. No reason to settle for Capital.AVBucks4239 wrote:Good, then I know I'm making the right choice.romothesavior wrote:FYI, this will be among the more overwhelmingly lopsided polls on TLS.
