W&L$ vs. George Mason in state

Post by klussy » Tue Apr 06, 2010 10:00 am

W&L: 27k plus housing, after scholly
GMU: 20k plus housing

Already live in the DC area, but don't want to commute 45 min.-1.5 hrs everyday, so I'd be looking at expensive apts in the Arlington area, that are about 2,000/mo. (24k/yr additional). Housing for W&L is next to nothing.

Does anyone have any insight regarding how these two schools compare for employment, for DC in particular? Average salaries, types of job, employment rate, biglaw, etc.

The costs of the two looks like theyd be about the same. If thats the case I'd take W&L. Washington and Lee is going to give you better employement prospcts in DC and a much better shot at biglaw. If you want to work in government id pick Mason but otherwise go with W&L.
