Choosing between WM, W&L, GW, Emory, WUSTL, and BU

Postby chinagator » Sun Feb 28, 2010 3:33 pm

Ok so there's the list of schools I've been accepted to. Still waiting to hear from Cornell, as I was EA Deferred. Waitlisted at Vandy and UCLA, "super preferred WL" at GULC. At 167, 3.76, no word yet on $ from BU or GW. 72K from Emory, 75K from WUSTL, 102K from W&L, 52K from W&M. Not really sure where I want to practice, but could see myself at any of these. What would ya'll choose?

This would be a little easier if you knew what region you wanted to work in. As it stands right now Emory would be your choice for the south/southeast, WUSTL would be for midwest, and the others you've been accepted would be east coast. If you want BIgLaw I'd say BU wouldn't be a bad choice... That said, you're on a few waitlists (which would give you more portability than the schools you've been accepted to already) and it wouldn't be unheard of to get the go ahead from one of them plus you very well may get $ from BU or GW. My two cents: visit the contenders and try to figure out where you want to be.
