I was accepted into Fordham’s PT program back in December. While I’m ecstatic about being accepted to my first choice I am now reconsidering the idea of working during 1L. My boss is very flexible and understanding so getting my hours down to 15-20 hrs/wk wouldn’t be a problem; however, I’m still worried I won’t be able to dedicate the amount of time necessary for me to succeed during the first year. My question goes out to anyone who’s done PT (at any school, doesn’t have to be Fordham) and transferred to FT after the first year WITHOUT holding any sort of job/internship while being in PT: did you find yourself at a disadvantage or looked down upon by prospective employers for this choice? Did they even bring it up during the interview? I know this has been discussed in many other threads but I’d really like to hear if anyone’s had first-hand experience with this. Thanks, in advance.
