Visiting Washington and Lee's Wait List day
Hey guys,
Ill be visiting W&L wait-list day in April and was wondering if anyone had attended. How should I prepare myself and prep for the interview with the dean.
Also- I'm traveling from NYC and don't drive, whats my best option for getting there.
Thanks!

You really don't drive? If you're from NYC, take the Amtrak at Grand Central to Richmond, VA. I'm not sure if one takes you closer to Lexington. It's slightly cheaper than flying and you don't have to get to the airport, just take the subway to Grand Central. It will probably take you like 6-7 hours though, I swear I can run faster than the Amtrak.auroojgulzar wrote:Hey guys,

W/L has a waitlist day? Seems odd to me. Is this common for schools?auroojgulzar wrote:Thanks for your suggestion!

dude it's virtually impossible to get to lexington without a car. your only option is to fly to roanoke or charlottesville and take a car service to lexington. they are used to dealing with people visiting W&L. good luck. i highly suggest just renting a car - should be no more than 8 hours from nyc w/ traffic.

btw dude you will be bored out of your ever-lovin mind living in lexington without a car. take my word for it. if you really don't drive, don't consider W&L. seriously.

I am sorry but a Waitlist day? Are you kidding me? I would be extremely embarrassed to attend a WL students weekend.
PS - Washington and Lee will give you NO $$$$ if they even take you off the WL. Would you really pay $150,000 in tuition to go there?

dude, to each his own. Just b/c you don't consider W&L at stickers, doesn't mean 1)others don't and 2)it's a bad school.Northeast wrote:I am sorry but a Waitlist day? Are you kidding me? I would be extremely embarrassed to attend a WL students weekend.

OP: I visited W&L before and talked to the admission dean. He is a nice guy. Don't worry too much. Some common advice are ask him a lot of questions about the school and his background and tell him how you can contribute to W&L. also, if you can speak on why Lexington, that'd be awesome.

Re: Visiting Washington and Lee's Wait List day
I know going to school at sticker is pricey but I guess thats the price I pay for not being at par with my LSATS.
from the research that I have done I have came to the conclusion that W&L is a great school.
Thanks for your advice teadrinker. your right I need to incorporate why Lex into my answers and think about genuine questions I would want to ask.
PS- Im not embarrassed to go to waitlist day as I think of it as an opportunity to physically present my case as to why Im a great candidate for the school

I would recommend getting in touch with current students if you can and finding out as much as you can about the school and life in Lexington before you come to the waitlist day.
