3.98 GPA/ 156 LSAT
Hi everyone,
Like a lot of people have posted, I am pretty disappointed about my October LSAT score of a 156. I am a senior at Northwestern, and I have a 3.98 GPA, with a lot of extracurriculars and awards. I know that retaking the test is probably the best option, but as you all can see, I don't generally do well on standardized tests. So, forgetting about retaking the test for a moment, are there any good schools that I can still get into? I really appreciate any suggestions!

My friend had the same exact numbers as you and he is now at GW. However, he is Hispanic, so that may have helped, and he applied super early.

Mike295855 and TaoTao,
Thank you so much for your responses; I feel much more optimistic than I did when I first saw my score. An addendum is a great idea, TaoTao. Do you have any suggestions for schools I should apply to?

I live in the Chicago area, but I am definitely willing to go to the best school that takes me.

Re: 3.98 GPA/ 156 LSAT
hard reach: GW and GT (apply to the part time and full time programs at the same time), even Texas and maybe Northwestern
reach: BC, BU, Minnesota, Wisconsin
Target: UC Hastings, William and Mary
kinda safeties: Florida, Miami, Santa Clara
Remember you have an amazing GPA from a good school, so underscore it whenever possible. Write a very good addendum for your LSAT, substantiate it with a good example of why your performance on standardized tests does not reflect your true abilities. If you do applu to NW make sure to impress them during the interview. Good luck!

i think the targets are reaches, to be honest.
but good list overall...maybe get rid of a couple of reaches.

Re: 3.98 GPA/ 156 LSAT
Hey,
I'm in a pretty similar boat. 3.8 GPA/156 LSAT. I went to Santa Clara University, and SCU Law is kinda my first choice. I was an English major. I won lots of awards (for English composition and poetry) and was in the University Honors Program. I've worked the past three years as a technical writer for a software database company in Silicon Valley. Going to try and leverage that to my advance. I want to practice IP law.
The schools I'm applying to:
Reach: UC Hastings, UC Davis, Boalt
Target: Santa Clara University, Arizona State, USF, USD
Safety: University of the Pacific, Golden Gate, Gonzaga
Do those schools sound pretty reasonable?
