Hi all, I have an Electrical Engineering gpa of 3.5 from a top stem university. I got a 164 on the July 2020, but I have been studying more and I am retaking in April. I have been getting ~169 on timed practice exams, and I have been working as a patent engineer at a national law firm for the past six months. Also URM. T-14 chances?

Pretty good, I'd say, for a T20. Every point you can get above 165 as a URM makes it so much closer to getting int T14 with a scholarship. I think you'll get some bites though.

Bear in mind that LSAT scores were significantly inflated by the FLEX exam and will likely remain that way for some time. Though you have a strong profile (and could probably develop a strong narrative if you focus on something like IP lit) a 164 is no guarantee of getting into a T20.

I'm curious about this inflation since I thought they would calibrate around getting the percentiles to map to the same LSAT scores as before. Is the Flex exam decently easier to score high in than the old format? If so is it reasonable to retake the LSAT post flex hoping for a better result? Sounds like this is very bad news for me as my LSAT was the only good part of my profile

Yes, people generally did better on the FLEX exam (IIRC part of it was the shift to one fewer section). You certainly could retake to see if you can improve. But your score is still in the 99th percentile, so not sure there's much of a return on retaking. I don't think that more people breaking into the 170s translates to ease in improving on a 177.
