Ivy undergrad senior (not HYP), got 2 C-s freshman year due to mental health issues, got into my major's honors program and writing a thesis (potential soft). I am an exec editor of my school's law journal, multilingual, and have exec positions in black and comedy publications (potential softs). Plan to work for two years after graduation. what are my chances at HYS? my dream school is Y but I might not bother to apply given my GPA. my advisors at school are telling me I don't have a chance at any of these schools, but I guess delusion is propelling me to post here lol.

Your advisors are wrong, as they usually are. You have a shot at all of these schools, but you aren't a lock for any of them (although you probably are for CCN on down). Do your best to get to a 3.5 LSAC GPA, even if it means padding your schedule some and/or taking easy classes. Congrats on the great LSAT score!

yeah it's absolutely worth applying to HYS. Yale's a reach but it's a reach for almost everyone

thank you guys for your advice! :D I will try to put Y at the back of my mind and hope for the best, then. do you think Harvard is more plausible?

Apply to all three YHS. Why not?

Definitely worth applying, so silly an "advisor" at an Ivy school (or any school) would advise against it. At absolute worst you are out the app fee (which you could maybe even get waived) and a bit bummed out. Assuming you aren't graduating this December, try to pick out some easy electives to pad the GPA for the spring semester. I want to say I've read/seen that there is a GPA floor of 3.5 for HYS, so that might be very important. Regardless, it would appear you will have many great options to choose from if and when the time comes so don't get too hung up on Y, which as mentioned above is a tough road for anyone.
