PoliSci/Asian studies major in a top 20 liberal arts college (according to U.S. News)
Chinese w/o Green Card
Have been in the States since HS
Rising senior applying right out of college
Soft factors:
Published an essay on a PoliSci journal hosted by Yale
The only Chinese senator in my college's student government, negotiated with the college president to raise the minimum wage for student workers.
Currently negotiating, as the representative of the student government and on the behalf of international students, with the financial aid director for an expansion of international student financial aid.
Started a petition condemning Harvard for its bias against Asian applicants.
Studied abroad in Japan and did extensive research on civil rights challenges faced by Korean-Japanese community. Planning to make this my thesis topic.
Served as the aide of the chair of Asian studies department, helped with event organization and communication stuff.
Fluent in Japanese, can speak some German and Spanish. Currently learning Korean.
