So here is my number 3.29/170. Biology major.
Currently doing agriculture research and founded a agriculture business.
Filed a patent early this year, haven’t heard anything back.

Any chance in T14?

Lower end of T14 you have a shot.

A few people with similar numbers get accepted every year at places like Georgetown or UVA. Unless you are URM, I wouldn't hold out hope for the T6.

Having a STEM background is always a bit of a novelty, but won't do a ton for you. STEM folks who work in patent prosecution tend to punch above their weight in admissions (assuming they don't just take a free ride to night-school), but they are also usually M.S./Ph.D.'s holders who worked for big-law and have partners writing recommendations.

Basically, apply to Penn, Michigan, UVA, Duke, and NW among the T13. (Remember that Penn, Mich and UVA almost effectively require a "Why X" essay, so don't forget to write one for those schools!)

Then, blanket the T20: Georgetown, UT, UCLA, Vandy, WUSTL, maybe USC.

With the above application strategy, and an early (before November) application submission date, you have a shot at the T13 and almost guaranteed to have some very appealing T20 offers, notably a near full ride at WUSTL.
