With stats at both medians, you'll probably get admitted. The main issue is that you won't get much (if any) money, and you shouldn't go to UNC without a full ride.

what about with an interest in Patent/IP law in Charlotte?

the salary information at the bottom of this page seems pretty decent http://www.law.unc.edu/career/employmentdata/ is it not good?

I think UNC sends a fair amount of grads to charlotte biglaw if you have the grades.

I wouldn't rely on IP to make up for the excessive debt you'd be taking on. More importantly:

I'm not sure what a "fair amount" is; it looks like only 25% of the class goes to a firm of 100+ lawyers. That's not terrible, but as you said, you need good grades. You can't count on being in the top 25% of your class. You certainly can't wager six figures on it.

I’m not an expert in IP law. I have heard that biology/biochemistry undergrad is not enough to get you a job in IP. People with PhDs are going into IP with a life science/ biology background.

You need to do more research as to the potential job opportunities. I definitely wouldn’t go deeply in debt for a potential career that requires more qualifications.

I don’t have time to look through this but you need to k know all of the stats.
