Hey all,

I have a 4.0 GPA from undergrad (accounting major) and a 164 LSAT. I also earned a 4.0 GPA in my master of accountancy program. I've been wondering how much my soft factors will help me during the admissions process. I was very active on campus during both undergrad and grad school, and had internships each summer. I've been working as an accountant for over 3 years at a large corporation and have my CPA license.

Am I delusional for hoping to go to Texas or Northwestern? I know my LSAT isn't stellar, but I'm hoping to raise it in September.

I'm also considering Vanderbilt, Wash U, and Notre Dame.

You're making the right choice by retaking. Don't settle.

Retake for a 168+. Go to the lower T13 at a heavy discount or free.

Thanks guys! The weekend after I got my June score, I figured I needed to suck it up and try again. I’ve got some good areas for improvement on my LR sections, so we’ll see how it goes!

Don't just hope. The test is learnable. You can do this - follow the guides here and ask for help if you find yourself plateaued.

With a 4.0 GPA, you should not be applying with a low LSAT. The opportunity cost would be tremendous, when compared against what's available to you with a higher LSAT.
