NU 2.98 GPA 173 LSAT

I'm Canadian, Low GPA is because of a few retakes I thought would strengthen GPA and because of the nature of how my college allocates grades. Class average always had to be a 68 and that's a 2.0 on LSAC's scale as my college doesn't give out Plus or Minus grades. I probably wont bother with addendum. I'm severely visually impaired too if that makes a difference. I was on the deans honor list for my final year too for high academic average.

I graduated last summer, been working full time and will have 1.5 years post grad experience by the time I start at law school. I also worked for a year after high school and before college. Also worked as an RA all throughout College.

I'll be applying with my score from the upcoming December LSAT, I PT 173-176. got a 169 in September so retaking. Ill submit my application before the year is out and ask NU to wait for my score to be released before making a decision.

I post this thread because I'm so confused by myLSN and I'm not sure if I need to be worried. if I search 2.95-3.05 GPA for the last 6 cycles, everyone got accepted with my numbers.
However, once I raise the margin to 2.95-3.20, the chances of admittance drop to like 75-80 percent. The same is true for 2.5-3.0 GPA. Its as though NU doesn't care what your GPA once its below their median.

I know mylsn isn't an exact science, but are my chances at NU very likely? NU is my dream school. Even if I don't get in, i'm thinking about going to WUSTL for a year and then transferring if that's possible.

Thank you in advance.

It's literally the first box in the flowchart.

Thanks for editing that in.

So to recap, you do not have a 173. You have a 169, with a 2.98 GPA.

ETA: I'm confused though, because in this thread you had a 174: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 9#p9278989 What happened to your 174?

that was almost two years ago, I was a dumb undergrad overly excited because I got a 174 on a single past exam. Quit breaking my balls mate.

When I apply in December, I can assure you that ill be in 172-176 range. I've not gone below that for the past 7 PT tests.

Tough to not break your balls when you're full of shit, mate.

LSAT scores are good for five years. If you got a 174 two years ago, it'd be good for another three years. What seems more likely is that maybe you got a 174 on a PT. Then, when you took the actual exam, you got a 169.

I got a 174 on a practice exam. 2 years ago.

All I want to know is whether anything above 172 is a shoe in for NU. Looking at the myLSN numbers it seems that way but because of the small sample size I want some human input.

You're not gonna be a shoe-in anywhere with a GPA under the 25th percentile. Doesn't matter if you get a 180.

Ok, just to cover the basics:

1. You don't have a 173. You have a 169.
2. Your GPA is going to keep you out of a lot of schools, so you can't afford to be picky.
3. You can't plan on transferring after 1L.

So why are you gunning for Northwestern?

had no idea this community was so toxic.

NU is best for splitters.
I am a splitter.

I wanted more information on chances for splitters but the entire forum is full of people who have been here for years with 100s of posts. Sad!

Maybe I should clarify. I don't want to know where you think your admissions chances are higher (pro tip: no one can predict splitter performance very well because it's so variable). I wanted to know why you want to go to Northwestern in the first place. It's not the only splitter-friendly school.
