Splitters are unpredictable, but if you can get a higher LSAT score then it will more than likely help.



Now LSN isn't 100% accurate, since not everyone who is an applicant puts their stats into there, but it's just a general idea for you to see.

anecdotally speaking, fwiw, someone on here this past cycle had your GPA and a 173 who ended up at Columbia with $

As others have mentioned you will likely get into NU, Cornell, and GTown. I would just apply to all the t14 after CCN. You'll also get a full ride from every school outside the t14. So if you want to be in the south apply to Vandy, midwest apply to WUSTL, Texas UT, etc.

This is not true, at least not for UT. Splitter $ is hard to come by. True for WUSTL though.

Apply to CCN. The LSAT medians have moved up and down 1 recently. You never know if the new median is going to be 1 point lower, in which case your 172 becomes more attractive.

This is not true, at least not for UT. Splitter $ is hard to come by. True for WUSTL though.

Also almost definitely not true for Vandy or ND.

Instead of repeating everyone else I will say this: are you SURE about law school? If you're already working as a software engineer at a prestigious company why sink $200k+ and 3 years of your life for a career that has worse quality of life and similar if not worse pay?

Talking about your career after law school is not putting the cart before the horse in any sense.

Law school provides a professional education. It is only useful if you want to be a lawyer. If you're not sure you want to leave your current job for that, you should figure that out before you start figuring out application strategies.

I'm in almost the exact same boat, applying this year. So far, accepted at Vandy, WUSTL (with $$) and UCLA and interviewed at GULC and NU. Still waiting on everything else. HYSCCN are probably long shots, although I think worth applying to at least a couple because you never know. Everywhere else, you'd probably at least be considered, and should have a strong chance at some lower T14's

Received first T14 acceptance yesterday from Michigan! My stats are very similar to yours, so T14 is absolutely possible

If you leave a prestigious software engineering gig to go to law school you are insane!! Keep the software gig and bathe in that sweet equity comp

Cornell is pretty unlikely with that GPA

Thanks! No scholly yet, but I'm hoping. I was admitted last week, but Michigan doesn't send out scholarships with acceptance, so just have to wait and see.

Also, second addie's comment on Cornell. They seem pretty partial to high GPA's, and I was just dinged.

He's not going to get Chicago with that GPA, and I'm skeptical that he has more than a 10% chance at either Columbia or NYU, unless he is URM.
