3.2 173 - drpped out of HYP
I had a tough time at one of HYP b/c I literally burned out-
now at a state flagship and got my LSDAS Gpa up to 3.2 and I got a 173 on my LSAT-
What's my target school?
Any chance at a t14 or should I just not bother with LS?
(I have a backup option at a startup)

Im not sure how negatively they will view the dropping out part. I plugged your number into mylsn.info which is a great tool. It looks like you are out at T6 with a small chance at NYU (25% or so). You have a fair shot at Northwestern (57%) or Georgetown (69%). I definitely think you have a shot at a T14 school, but you may end up paying very close to sticker. Also, if you are not committed or dying to go to law school, people typically recommend that you shouldn't.

your LSAT is above their 75th and the other person's is not. I'm sure that helped. I agree that they should definitely apply to CCN on down, but the mylsn.info data for the T6 schools wasn't encouraging. However, OP shouldn't let mylsn.info discourage them from applying.Bach-City wrote:I was 3.2/175 and I'm at Columbia now. I think it'll come down a lot to how the schools view your particular situation. An addendum and lots of Why X essays will be key. I'd apply CCN all the way down, with T20 schools as your safeties.AJ1010 wrote:Im not sure how negatively they will view the dropping out part. I had your exact numbers. I got into several lower T-14s but up taking Texas with $$$ (from Texas, wanted to practice here). You can certainly snag a T-14.
Whether you should go or not, is a different story. Generally speaking, only go to law school if you're sure you want to go. If you're torn between law school and this start-up opportunity, for now, do the start up. Law school will be waiting if you change your mind.

something to disclose: I got caught delivering coke to a TA after a discussion section, but got my record expunged
Do I have to disclose everything?

keep this up in law school, I wish I'd received such treatment as a TA.jamesdakrn wrote:something to disclose: I got caught delivering coke to a TA after a discussion section, but got my record expunged

And as far as I know, "expunged" college records are not the same as expunged juvenile court records (i.e. the school cannot legally prevent someone from viewing the record). The general consensus here is to disclose everything, because the bar probably will get access to the information, even if schools don't.
