The only discrepancy they care about is that between the GPA you're reporting and that which you claim is indicative of your academic performance. Here, that's 0.15 points. Still, how sub-3.0 of a GPA are we talking?

HOWEVER, after doing some searching on myLSN, I've decided you should write one. A 3.65-ish has 70+% shot at H (you're still out at Y and S), whereas a 3.5-ish has a mere 25%-ish chance at H. It might be wise to point out to H that you fit better with that 3.65 grouping that the 3.5 grouping. (plus, writing an addendum let's you talk about overcoming shit, saving room in your PS for other stuff)

Makes sense to me, thanks! And not that sub-3.0; by the end of the second semester it was around a 2.9. Followup question: There are other grades that I have a non-medical explanation for that I may include in my addendum. If they were *completely* discounted, which seems unlikely, this would bring my GPA to 3.72. Could this change the calculus at any of these schools? My initial impression is that Y and S are still off the table, but if they agreed that my explanation was legitimate I might have a very strong chance at H.
