173, 3.98, KJD: CCN merit $$?

Post by ayylmao » Thu Aug 11, 2016 2:37 pm

Before you all go fuck off you neurotic validation-needing bastard, I really do want some honest advice about my chances. LSN likes my odds, especially at Chicago, but I'm wondering whether anyone has experience getting money as a KJD and to what degree (if at all) not having full-time WE will hurt my chances for admission and/or scholly. I'm white, male, I've had some interesting internships, and I go to a pretty good state school.

Any and all help appreciated.

Seriously, you'll get money at CCN. You prob won't get huge money but you'll get some.

You could get in. You could also get rejected.

No full time work outside of internships. 171/3.8 kjd from a pretty good state school (not that it matters) and got 40k at Chicago, 37.5 at NYU. You'll do better than that. Didn't apply to Columbia. Or you could go up to Cornell or down to Duke and get a full ride. Congrats

higher LSAT, lower GPA (still 3.9) k-jd with no FTWE w/ some cool research experiences (including a publication in UG). I got in at all three and got around 35-40k per year from each.

you'll get a Butler from CLS, maybe a Vanderbilt (full tuition) from NYU, $30-40k/year from Chicago, with an outside shot at a Hamilton/Ruby, but probably not given the uptick in high quality applicants next year.

Could you elaborate on that last part? Was unaware of this.

This. You should apply across the entire t14 and see if you can get full rides anywhere.

A friend of mine had a similar GPA, a 175 and was kjd and got the Vanderbilt at NYU and the Rubenstein at Chicago, fwiw. Not to mention similar deals at 2-3 other t14s.
