Splitter, Upward Trend in GPA

First generation student.
I worked for at least 20 hours a week for every semester.
Freshman year GPA: 2.9; sophomore year GPA: 3.5, junior year GPA 3.94
Huge improvement in GPA over time, upward trend despite taking more classes of higher difficulty.

I want T14, aiming for NYU or Columbia, but will be happy with Georgetown or Cornell. What are my chances?
You should have a decent shot at NYU and Columbia and will probably get lower t14 with $$. Also decent shot at NU ED.
However, be aware that this cycle was harder on splitters than the past two cycles; i don't know if that trend will hold next cycle.
Standard splitter advice: Apply early, blanket T14, write all optional essays, be prepared to ride waitlists.
Do you have a particularly good reason for the 2.9? That may be worth doing an addendum for. Also, calculate your LSDAS gpa because it will likely be different than the way your UG calculates it.
