T-14 chances/advice?

Odd question (which is why I can't input into LSN!) I have a sort of unusual predicament. My GPA at my (top 5) undergrad school is a 3.3. I have been struggling with severe ADHD (undiagnosed till recently) and thus wasn't doing very well in school. I thus decided to take a year off, to focus on getting it under control. I have done that this past year, and took enough credits at a community college to get my LSAC GPA to a 3.83. I also got a 178 on the LSATs. I'm going back to complete my last semester of school this September.

Will my applications to law school be hurt by the large discrepancy between my UGPA and LGPA? I'm wondering about the T-14 holistically but more specifically about the T-3, especially Stanford (my dream school).

Wait so did you graduate with a 3.3 from your undergrad? If so, then the classes after don't matter. Then its a 3.3. With your lsat, your chances are iffy to non existent at YS, and a really really small chance at harvard. I might have misread this but the way OP worded it seems like he didn't graduate, but then in the second paragraph there is a distinction between Ugpa and lgpa (idk what this means?).

Apologies! I realize it's confusing. I took a year off starting last January (right before the last semester of my senior year) and worked for 3 months, before taking community college classes (as a visiting student) for 3 seasons. Those community college classes boosted my GPA to 3.83. I have one last semester at my old school left, which I plan to complete this fall. I then plan to apply to law school.

I could see it being a minor things adcoms may note, but it shouldn't have any true impact on your applications generally. GPA is GPA, and the schools need only report the LSAC GPA to US News, which is their primary motivator for wanting high GPA and LSAT numbers. Your stats are obviously very good, so schools like S or Y that you might be considering could be slightly more picky, but others are probably more qualified to expound on whether that's true.

I'm sorry if it comes off as a humble brag but it's not intended as one! I was quite clear about the reason I asked on the forum, rather than on LSN: because I thought it was a rather unusual situation. While I understand that in a vacuum, my numbers are good, I'm unsure how they'll play out given context.

I think what he's saying is its not going to be seen as too unusual - just say you had to move home for health/personal reasons and wanted to continue going to school. Being kjd is going to hurt you a lot more than taking some cc classes.

Have you considered they utilized either medication or accommodation during their LSAT?

OP: HYS certainly have the ability to be more selective with which candidates they select, but with your stats you have a great shot. Apply broadly and I think you will end up in a great spot.

Your thoughts on the validity of my ADHD diagnosis aside, I do have one. My question is how this will impact me in applications, not whether or not you believe People are over medicated. If you're not able to or interested in helping me, that's fine; please don't derail. Thanks.

I think that while schools look at your entire grade/testing history, I agree that they'll treat your 3.8x as such. With your high lsat, you have decent shot. I think it also presents a nice opening for a reflective ps or addendum explaining your grading history (as long as you don't hyperfocus on your medical history as a justification/reason adcomms should let you in).

I had a similar experience, though with a lower lsat, and am very happy with my cycle. You'll definitely break t14 if you frame it right.

Edit: I do agree that being a kjd is what will hurt you the most. Consider gaining a few years' we (perhaps even in a field related to supporting mental health research, if it's something that you're passionate about). This would help you tremendously!
