GPA: 3.48
LSAT: 153

Six years enlisted military experience in the Marines - honorably discharged. Injured in Afghanistan. Very strong statements and LORs.

C & F: I was cited and pled no contest for driving on a suspended license. My license was placed on a medical suspension from loss of consciousness and medical report from the injury I sustained in Afghanistan. I had no idea until I got pulled over for a seatbealt violation. The cop had no mercy and impounded my truck and cited me for driving on a suspended license. Brought my discharge papers to the court but they didn't care. charged with driving on a suspended license. It does not sound bad at all in my Addenda.

GPA: Took college classes during my enlistment. Had to drop out half way through two semesters for deployments which is why I have several Ds and Fs. Easily explainable in Addenda.

Overall my application is solid. Easy to read, informative, in-depth yet as simply as it can be.

Notre Dame is my top choice.

Already admitted at UOP McGeorge $26k a year and $2k for books. I live in sacramento also. But I'm definitely ready to move anywhere if I can.

If your ps (writing ability) is exceptional then you might be able to snag 1 or 2 of those schools. Is money an issue or will you be using the gi bill to pay for it? You won't likely get more than half tuition in scholarship money at any of these schools because they are all big reaches. Also look into get some of those D's and F's retroactively withdrawn due to your military commitment. Your C&F issue is likely minor in the big scheme of things and shouldn't really hinder you as long as you are forthcoming and don't try to spread the blame to others. Good luck on your cycle.

Your C&F issue isn't going to be a big deal, but your vet status is not going to overcome your numbers. Your LSAT and GPA are just too low for many of the schools you're targeting.

You're really going to have to retake the LSAT to have a shot at any of the schools on your list. If you can get to 160, schools like Hastings and USD come into play, while you're going to have to get to 165+ for a good shot at Davis.

Since you're from Sacramento, seems to me that Davis would be a great outcome for you, especially since your GI bill makes you basically indifferent to cost. The other schools can get you to the regions they serve, so being indifferent to location would make sense in your case, but I think you will probably be in a better situation if you make some choice about where you would like to end up. That should allow you to focus your preparations better.

I appreciate the insight. I went all-out on my Notre Dame app. My personal statement and "Why NDLS" are solid. Still a far reach though.

I also applied to Seattle, USF, Santa Clara, and Pepperdine. I'm definitely considering applying as a transfer after my first year. The last thing I want to do is wait another year and retake.

Your odds of getting where you want to go are dramatically better with a retake than they are with you going forward with a plan to transfer. You have no reason to believe ex ante that your grades will be good enough (you will need stellar, top 10% at least) to allow you to transfer.
