Top Law Schools

22 year old white male, Boston University undergrad (BA in Political Science). By the time I apply will have spent 1.5 years as a patent assistant in the IP department of a large, successful Boston firm; also have intern experience working in a small firm while studying abroad in London. Regular volunteer with Boston Cares, a non-profit that organizes frequent local giving back opportunities (animal shelter cleanup, food kitchen service, environmental cleanup, etc). I will be applying this time next year and am interested in the following schools: Northwestern, Georgetown, Michigan, BU, GWU, UT-Austin, Vanderbilt, UCLA, BC, and Cornell.

Your numbers are OK but if you're not applying for another year you should retake; a few more points will score you some much better options.

The softs won't help you outperform what mylsn says

I'd probably narrow the geographic focus a bit. For example, no reason to apply to UT Austin unless you have a burning desire and reason to work in TX long term. Or if you're using a scholarship there as a scholarship negotiation tool that's ok too.

I went straight from high school --> college --> law school. Worked at a non-profit part time during college. Double majored, studied abroad, and I speak several languages. That's about it You'll be fine.

I applied for the 2013 cycle. I didn't go to any of the above schools; wanted to stay in NYC. I wish I knew to "leverage" scholarships and offers back then!

Nice! So where did you end up going? I'd really like to do GULC or Northwestern, so I think a 169 would put me in really good standing at both, on top of some good work experience.

With another 6 months of studying before the June test, your should be able to increase your score by more than one point.

I have your exact stats, same demographic, same major. I'm in the middle of this cycle, in at GULC, in at GW with $$, in at Vandy, and still waiting to hear from NU, Michigan, and Cornell. I think you'll be fine to get into a few of them. Obviously anecdotes are a little nicer to hear, but MYLSN is the way to go for these
