LSAT 168, GPA 3.8 what are my safe schools?

Hey guys,

First briefly about me:
LSAT:168
GPA: 3.80
Double Major: Political Science, Statistics
Undergraduate: Top 20 Private School

I will retake in Dec to increase my chances for Top 6 (HYSCCN). However, I think it's a good idea to submit some applications for lower 8 now to take at least some advantages of applying early. However, since I will only apply for T14, I don't want to jeopardize my chance with any of them by acting hastily. Which schools do you guys think are "safe" for me considering my background? I know I have a pretty good chance at Georgetown and Cornell, but what else? In particular, for Berkeley, UPENN, and Duke, shall I turn in my applications now or wait until Dec?

P.S. Financial aid is not my biggest concern.

Big thanks in advance to everyone who replies!!!!

I don't know about calling them safeties - but as far as T14 is concerned, I would be surprised if you didn't get at least one of them. And if you have solid work exp., I would add NW.

Apply to schools outside T14. You will likely get some scholarship money out of a T20ish. Use that to negotiate your way up the ranking. You can then use that to try and get something at a T14. I only applied to two schools outside T14 and regret that I didn't apply to more. I did not get any $ initially from my law school (T10) but used a T20 scholly to get a matching scholarship. Could have gotten more if I had more schools to negotiate that $ up.

This is great advice. WUSTL was giving out money like candy last year.

Hi CanadianWolf, I'm asking just in case the "staying in NYC" plan doesn't work out.

Were you able to read the details of the NYU MBA scholarships limited to college seniors ? They are the best that I have ever come across in the education industry.
