Top Law Schools

Hey all, so my numbers aren't that terrible, but I don't want to go to law school without a full ride. I know that eliminates a lot of top choices, so should I retake in Dec? Or would that be too late in the cycle for schollys anyway?
Without retaking, what T50 schools would be my best shot for a full ride?

Some info:
Not a URM, but I'm Persian and can write a DS on that
From Cleveland, and would like to end up back in/near the area
I have a master's degree in a lib arts field, so that's a soft factor.
No huge preference as of yet for the type of law I'd like to practice, but I am interested in family law/wills and estates/immigration law.

Retake in dec. ED NU is a good strategy too.

You shouldn't have to go lower than T14 with those stats to get big money

NU's ED program is close to full $, but it doesn't completely cover it. They suggest having apps in for ED by Nov 15th, but one of my recommendations isn't coming in til the 25th (damn professors and their busy schedules)

I'd LOVE to get $$$ at UMich or Penn

Really?? It seemed like no one under 173 would even be considered. That raises my hopes a lot!!

email them. tell them that you can have all of your materials in before the 15th, but that you're waiting on one last professor. Or, email the professor and tell him that you're in contention for a $150k scholarship, but the deadline is 11/15.

OP: Apply to Penn, Duke, Virginia, Michigan, Northwestern, Cornell. Also, if you can qualify for significant financial aid, try Harvard.

Any non-T-14 law school is likely to offer substantial scholarship money if you are offered admission.

Thank you! I really wasn't sure if I would have a realistic chance for $ at any of those.

I know it's tempting to throw an app at a binding ED program like this but you've really got to trust that going through the full cycle is the best course of action. There are better outcomes to be had than 150k at NU (though it's still a great one) and you'll have no chance to know what you would have gotten if you take an ED offer. The odds of not getting an equivalent offer from another T14 are very small, and there's a good chance (I think) that NU might give you 150k with an RD app

Keep in mind also that 150k =/= a full ride. When you factor in rising tuition you could still be on the hook for 30k + tuition over three years. I took basically a full ride at a different lower T14 (minus a couple thousand) with very similar numbers, and it is nice to not have to fork over another 5k per semester for tuition, just something to consider.

That's amazing! Would you mind sharing your stats/where you ended up?

ED does make me really nervous, I'd hate feeling trapped and being stuck with that what if feeling
