And I certainly don't buy the "cant study for the lsat during the semester" excuse. You can't handle undergrad classes and a little lsat studying at the same time? And you want to be a lawyer?
Your finance major will make no difference whatsoever.
Retake until you get this then, don't settle for less. I'd also recommend waiting until after undergrad so you can just concentrate on your grades your senior year (which you need to do). And no, your finance major won't matter.TexasRebel wrote:I spent nearly 8 months studying for the LSAT, and there towards the end I was consistently scoring between 168-171...
Thanks for the input.....the Rebel in my name is not a political statement. I go to Ole Miss. Just a side note.......roughly 1/3 of the population lives in a former Confederate State. You're in for a very miserable life if you carry a chip on your shoulder regarding southerners.stasg wrote:The fact that you're from the South and have "Rebel" in your username makes me not want to help you but you should definitely retake, at least for scholarships. There's a big difference between a 163 and a 168+. If you get the kind of score you were PT'ing at you might have an outside shot at Duke or UVA.
Yes! I'm new to the board, and I realized after I posted that it's in the wrong location, but I can't find the delete option. I'm interested in Health Care Law! Obviously i'd like a big law job, and from what I'v read most of the schools I listed would give me the opportunity if I graduated near the top of my class, but all of these schools are first and formost pretty decent schools, and all are within a few hours drive of my family, which for personal reasons I would like to be close to.Brut wrote:this isn't the place for this thread
but why these schools? what are your goals?
Thank you! leaning much more that way now.Ron Howard wrote:No need for conflict. Just get your LSAT up.
Excellent, and when you do you will have some pretty good options. Keep your eye on the prize.TexasRebel wrote:Thank you! leaning much more that way now.Ron Howard wrote:No need for conflict. Just get your LSAT up.
Fair enough but honestly in an ideal world I think Ole Miss would change their nickname and Mississippi would change their state flag. I don't hate southerners. I live in Oklahoma (which is not really the South though some people think it is) and have considered going to Alabama for law school.TexasRebel wrote:Thanks for the input.....the Rebel in my name is not a political statement. Yea, not a huge fan of our flag. Just for thought food, I'm pretty confident I could retake it tomorrow and score atleast a 165, but given that you have looked at Alabama, do you think I have a chance of getting in there with my score as is?stasg wrote:Fair enough but honestly in an ideal world I think Ole Miss would change their nickname and Mississippi would change their state flag. Regardless, I think everyone ITT agrees you should retake.
I think you would probably get into Alabama with your current score but would probably have significantly more scholarship money with a 168+.TexasRebel wrote:Yea, not a huge fan of our flag. Alright, yea this threat has convinced me to bite the bullet and retake.......just out of curiosity, because it's hard to find. What kind of scholarships would I be getting at these schools if I retook and scored within my range?stasg wrote:I think you would probably get into Alabama with your current score but would probably have significantly more scholarship money with a 168+.TexasRebel wrote:Yea, not a huge fan of our flag. Thank you very much! I'm new to the forum, sorry for the confusion.A. Nony Mouse wrote:Hey there - I merged the two threads with answers on this topic, so they could be consolidated into this forum.
Nothing I said was immature, childish, or condescending. I am not anti-southern but the idea you have to be from a place to criticize it is dumb. .Seamus887 wrote:Also stasg in an ideal world people who don't live in the south or are not from there would mind their own business and not worry about the word "rebel" for a school nick name. This childish anti southern condescending attitude is one of the most annoying things in the world. If you are going to take the time to post on a board for law school admissions, how about you keep it to that and not include immature swipes at geographical regions?
