Are you a URM? I'd suggest using the mylsn.info tool to help get an idea. Off the cuff, if you aren't a URM I would say you would not have a shot whatsoever at Yale and you would not have a good chance at Harvard, either. I also wouldn't consider yourself a shoe-in at Columbia with those numbers (although I think your chances are much better at Columbia as opposed to Y/H).

TCR is going to be a retake if you want Y/H. Your grad GPA doesn't matter much, it's merely a soft. It's going to be your GPA from undergrad + your LSAT score primarily. An admissions consultant can only help so far, and you're still going to need to have decent numbers for the schools you're targeting.

Just got my June LSAT.

My scores are 165 (February), 170 (June)
I have a 3.75 uGPA, and a 4.0 grad GPA.

I have really good softs and an impressive work history.

So I'm posting this thread for two reasons:

1) Should I retake the test? I was scoring 176-179 regularly on my practice tests, but bombed the logic games this time around. I'm concerned about this because I know that Harvard/Yale frown on multiple takes and honestly I'm not terribly confident in my ability to score higher.
2) Would hiring an admissions counselor help me?

I think that I'm pretty much a shoo-in at Columbia, but other than that I'm pretty disappointed in the 170.
The bolded is probably not true. If it is, you might be in the range but still probably not.

LSAT median at Harvard and Yale is 173, which you are below, and you're hovering right around 25th GPA.

So based on the numbers, and assuming you're not a URM, no

I'm not sure what's so ambiguous about it that you need human analysis. If you've been PT'ing 6-9 points above your actual score, it would be ludicrous not to retake. Not just to increase your chances at HY, but to increase your scholarship awards from everywhere else.

I'm also curious how you got into Columbia with a 165/3.75.

You should retake. Especially because you're going to have to reapply the next cycle anyway. I also highly doubt that you got into columbia with a 165 february lsat date. theres no point in lying in these threads. theyre supposed to help you. So either you are a URM and you arent telling us or you didnt get into columbia.

Anyway, a normal 170/3.75 would not have a chance at harvard or yale. Now, if you are a URM. that can change some things

uhh, no.
I was accepted with my 165. Which makes me a shoo-in with a 170.
Unless there is something extremely unique about you that you haven't mentioned yet, you were extremely lucky to be accepted with your 165. The 170 does not make you a shoo-in...it will probably just keep you in contention. Also, If you are accepted, it will probably be at a cost that is difficult to defend. If your goal is HYS or CCNP at a deep discount, you should retake.

you have virtually no chance at harvard or yale. and a similar scenario at columbia. unless you are a minority.
