How Often do Law Schools Change Admissions Philosophies?

Hey,
I was wondering how commonplace is it for schools to change their acceptance philosophies ( ie. splitter friendly/unfriendly, emphasis on softs, etc)
For instance U of Chicago has become notoriously more GPA- centric now compared to in the past when there were high volumes of apps
http://www.lsac.org/docs/default-source ... ba1832.pdf 5,000+ apps 25%/75% GPA were 3.47/3.78
Even as recently as 2010 the splits for 25/50/75 were 3.57/3.66/3.79 with over 5,000 apps
But now what would have been a upper 75% GPA just a few years ago is the new bottom 25% GPA for the incoming Fall 2014 class (4,400 apps)
