161 Lsat 3.7 uGPA should I retake?

My uGPA will likely be 3.72-3.74 at graduation. Double major with a minor. Small relatively unknown school. Decent softs. Non-urm.
161 on the LSAT but I only studied when I could for about a month. Then I realized that my December LSAT was finals week during which I was sick and got about 4 hours of sleep before the test. That said, the best I ever scored on a practice test was a 164.
I have not had the best cycle and have only been accepted to one school (Wake Forest - which seems far more regional than I had previously thought). 5 t14 rejections, 4 t25 waitlists. It seems that Vanderbilt (pending) or WUSTL (waitlist) would be great options for me, but the way this cycle has been I'm nervous that Vandy will reject me. I applied very late in the cycle.
If I retake the LSAT what would it take for me to have a solid shot at the t18? or even the t14, t10, or t6? Should I retake the LSAT?
Thanks for your feedback!

Yes, you should retake the LSAT if you are willing & able to better prepare for the test. Even a few points should dramatically increase your law school options & should get you scholarship offers from some T-30 law schools. For example, a 3.73 GPA & a 164 might yield a full tuition scholarship offer from Wake Forest--a law school to which you were accepted this cycle. Also, with a slightly higher LSAT score, your 4 waitlist offers would most likely be acceptances.
A 164/3.73 should get you serious consideration from a few lower T-14 law schools; anything above a 164 will increase your chances of admission within the T-14 law schools.
Check lawschoolnumbers.com for more detailed guidance.

The minimal amount of studying you did would normally be a good enough reason to retake. But this is even better. You have hard evidence that you are capable of scoring at least 3 points higher. Those three points are worth a lot of scholarship money (and better acceptances). There is no good reason to leave those points on the table.

With a 3.7 the sky is the limit outside of Y and S ( maybe Berk)
So no reason not to retake.
Even if you aren't looking for T14/big law ....you should at least increase the $$ from schools you plan on applying to

Small, unknown school doesn't matter. That's what I love about the LSAT: it's the great equalizer. Score high enough and no one cares that you weren't rich enough to go to a fancy school when you were 18. Definitely retake OP. One month of on and off studying is nothing, if you tested mid-160s from that there's no reason you couldn't go 170 or maybe even 175+ if you put some serious work in, and that coupled with your GPA gives you some seriously attractive options. Good luck!

You weren't adequately prepared the first time you took the LSAT, and you still got a 161. You probably have a great chance of gaining a few more points and getting accepted to a T14 after a few more months of studying.
