Top Law Schools

I'm very stressed out. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

White
~3 years work experience (financial services) after undergrad
Elite undergrad (top 15 according to USNews)

I have been taking classes in another field since i quit my finance job. Much better grades and lifts my 3.1 overall undergrad GPA to 3.2 (still terrible i know)

4 questions please:
1. Worth retaking LSAT? I do think i can do a little better but i run risk of doing worse.
2. What are my chances at T14?
3. I have a strong preference for NYC. Assuming NYU is my top choice, is it worth EDing there? Do i have a decent chance of getting in? I have searched forums and web in general - its unclear to me how much of a difference ED makes at NYU esp given my stats
4. Any guidelines/advice for how i explain my bad undergrad grades and debatable career choices (why i quit my job, taking classes in another non-legal-related field since)?

I know this doesn't answer your question and hopefully somebody can correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't those classes you took in another field will increase your gpa. As far as law schools are concerned, they only care about your grades before your bachelors. Although I could have just read your question wrong idk.

The above is my understanding as well. Once you receive your diploma, your GPA is set in stone for all eternity. Everything from masters degree classes to creative writing classes you take for fun at the local CC, etc. aren't factored in at all.

OP could try to ED Northwestern, but due to the scholarship he's pretty unlikely to get in that way. GPAs below 3.5 are rarely accepted and the ones that I've seen be exceptions to that are 3.4x/174+ or URM. Still, if there isn't somewhere else to ED, it might be worth a shot. I think he sounds like a good fit for NU with his WE/splitter stats, and he could get some aid without an ED.

NYU/Columbia are both notorious for not having much, if any, bump for ED applications. I don't think it's worth EDing NYU, and the odds of getting in probably aren't in your favor. With your NY preference, Cornell could become a contender (talking placement here, I know you don't want to practice in Ithaca).
