Top Law Schools

Hi everyone,

I took my LSAT early on in my undergraduate year, so I am not graduating yet.
I can still rewrite the LSAT before I graduate, and I probably will.
4.3 GPA is just what I have now; I understand that it may change.

What concerns me is that I'm not attending the most elite university. And it's in Canada.
So I feel like the 4.3 GPA is meaningless.
If I wanted to go to law school outside of Canada, what would be my chances?
If I wanted to have some options for out of Canada law schools, should I think about transferring to another university?

Canadian GPA's are reported the same as USA GPA's so it's far from meaningless.

Retaking would have diminishing returns since you're above every median. Since you're going to be a k-jd, a Hamilton isn't really in the cards anyways.

The chances that I will graduate with a 4.3 is hypothetical.
And it's nice to hear that my GPA will still count, but don't law schools unofficially/officially prefer students from more prestigious universities?

Your undergrad institution doesn't matter. USA law schools are extremely numbers-based, so it's really 95% LSAT+GPA except at Yale and Stanford, which are both more holistic.

I've had so many people tell me that I would need to get close to perfect score on my lsat since my gpa won't matter.

Well those people are dumb, and you'll be laughing your way to Harvard or a lower T14 on a full ride.

Just to be clear you've received an A+ in just about every class right?

In a tie situation with an otherwise identical candidate, the prestige or rigour of a university might make a difference. But your numbers are so good that you won't be in such a situation. Congrats on the fantastic numbers...

So far, yes, I received A+ in all my classes.
I'm not too sure that I'll graduate with all A+, though. That would be tough.
My aim is to stay in the 4.0-4.3 range.

Tbh, nothing. I know k-jd's (no time off between undergrad and law) who have gotten T14 full rides this cycle with similar numbers.
Obviously taking time off to get some work experience can be beneficial personally and professionally, but the bump from an admissions standpoint isn't substantial.

How on earth does one get a 4.3 on a 4.0 scale? With an "A+" you go over 4.0?? This is bizarre.

Yeah, LSAC awards A+ as 4.33, and A as 4.00.

Never heard this before, and a quick google search reveals that this likely isn't true (or at least it's not an absolute rule)
