Is it worth taking a year off?

So I'm trying to figure out what to do over the next year. I just got my score back and managed a 171 (over a 162 in September). I also have a 3.8 gpa at a pretty solid undergraduate. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth applying now and attending an instate school (with a very rushed application) or taking a year off after college to get work experience.

I would probably take a year off only if it would make me competitive at HYS, UVA, or Northwestern (all schools that I had considered out of reach until now). Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance.

Well you can still apply now and get into t14s, but taking a year off and getting WE should be good for you.

You're probably in at UVA and NU, but work experience can't do anything but help for OCI time and overall maturity.
