Applying to:
UCLA
UC Berkeley
Stanford
Columbia
NYU
Duke
UChicago
Yale
Harvard
GPA: 3.93 (Political Science, strong upward trend, top 5 US university)
LSAT: 169
Very very strong recommendations. Some leadership positions on campus, not super strong I think.
What are my chances? Thank you so much!

You should apply to the entire T14 if nothing other than scholarship negotiation purposes.

Not sure what this means. You are going to get in to many T14s with $$. I you want YHS you will very likely need to retake.

Fully and/or HYS >>>>>>>>>
I'd probs rather a Hamilton than a Mordecai but I guess that could come down to personal preferences

I think what he's saying is that since OP is right around the LSAT median for much of the T14, there's room for more money with even a slightly higher score. But if he's aiming for a regional school outside the T14, his current numbers will probably get him all the money he's going to get from them.

Yup. Can't imagine there's really any upside for UCLA on down. Tons of upside for lots of the T14.

Was 169 your first take? And are you applying this cycle or next?
I have a friend, non-URM, with similar stats who got into S and was WL'd at H/Y last year. He had a pretty impressive resume (top post-grad scholarship, etc.), though.
I think it can't hurt to retake if you're dead set on HYS or a full scholarship at a T10. A 3-5 point bump would really help for HY and things like the Rubenstein/Mordecai/ Vanderbilt. If you're just shooting for T10 or T14, then you're golden as is.
From your list, I bet you get UCLA, Berkeley, NYU, Chicago, and Duke. You may get Stanford depending on the strength of your application. WL is likely at Columbia (they love the LSAT) and HLS. Probably out at Yale.
But YMMV. If you're a Marshall scholar or something equally impressive, you might sweep HYS as is.
