If you're so accomplished in academia why would your LSAT be so low?

Yeah, you're not going to get federal loans as an international student. What's a smart guy like you doing taking the LSAT when you're PTing around 165?

You have some notable softs. If you're interested in legal academia down the road, I'd put that in your app somewhere. You'll still need an LSAT score in the upper 160s/170s to break into the T5.

My main concern: how harmful is the Feb '15 test date going to be?

It will hurt. HLS (if they even take Feb) has already accepted people. CLS and Chicago will send out huge waves of acceptances in January. By the time the committee looks at your application, they might already be worrying about yield, medians, diversity, financial aid, and other things. Might make sense to wait a cycle and reapply.

February is going to be late, quite possibly too late for this cycle. But either way you really should not apply till you get at least a 170, if not higher, on the LSAT, if you are aiming for a top 6 school (yes I <3 NYU). Especially since you don't have a GPA as an international student, you are first and foremost simply an LSAT score to schools; you should expect that your softs only come into play once you are being considered on that basis.
