3.89 GPA, multiple scores - chances at NYU/Columbia/Harvard

I took the LSAT 4 times - 150, cancel, 164, 174.
I know it was stupid of me to take the test so many times, but what's done is already done..
I think my softs are below average - I worked mostly part-time for almost 2 years with some gaps here and there, and I only recently got a full-time job as a staff member at a law firm in South Korea (I'm Korean). I volunteered at a rehab center and an animal shelter for a few months, and I have a decent recommendation letter from my undergrad professor whom I did an independent study with.
Would I have a chance at Columbia/NYU/Harvard? Or would it be impossible to get into any of them because I have too many scores on record?

No problems at getting into anything after HYS as long as you give a clear and good reason for why so many takes and the huge increase as 150-174 is an INSANE jump (congrats btw).
H - might be out bc of the number of takes
YS - always a black box, but the number of takes could very well hurt you.
Also, looking at full rides at lower t-14, and possibly (most likely not) a named scholarship at Columbia and Chicago.
But, congratulations on your amazing amazing score. Write a halfway decent PS and get good LOR's and you're golden.

Seriously though don't kick yourself on the number of takes. You definitely did the right thing by maxing your score, and congrats on the enormous bump. You are going to be fine. Blanket the T14, and good luck. You're above both medians at H and they only take the highest score into account, so I believe you have a good chance of getting in.
From HLS admissions:
Should I retake the LSAT?
The LSAT need be taken only once. If you take the test more than once, all scores will be received but we will use the highest score in our evaluation.

Curious to see someones take on NYU...I know his numbers are there (congratulations!!), but how will the multiple takes play in there?

Probably matters less there than anywhere, despite what they claim. There was a guy my cycle who got in after scoring a 139 (apparently proctor failed to register him leaving as a cancel), 164, 171. Know another admit with 166, 166, 176 and below 25th GPA.

Nice to know...I am testing within range of their 75 but my GPA will be 25. I was worried a slip up on my first (hopefully only) LSAT would render me fucked. OP, using this narrative your chances at NYU look pretty good

. Good luck

I know an admit with 4 scores here at NYU as well. My roommate has 2 scores. Many people here retook, it isn't a huge deal.

Hello fellow Korean! I'm a Korean, applying from Korea too!
Apparently besides YS, the schools listed (despite what they say) take into account your highest score. Maybe taking it 4 times was an overkill, but you got there in the end (and with a fab score too!), so I don't think you should be too worried.
Good luck!

How long did it take for you to reach that score? I am on the verge to quit trying to go to law school because I was so exhausted from the LSAT (had 146 then 152). Trying to become a full-time paralegal (i have my certificate) or even start a new career path (teaching credential).
Can someone give an encouragement?

my life is a mess right now... Can't land on a new job as a paralegal because the employers question what I quit my last job (i quit because i wanted to do full-time lsat studying! they don't understand...) And now, I don't know what to do with myself anymore...
Sorry to take over this thread... and congrats to your score! it gives me hopes

Fellow korean here too from Los Angeles.
My opinion reflects the other posters on the thread. Just blanket the entire T14. I can definitely see $$$ at the lower T14's.
Good luck!
