Top Law Schools

Hey,

I dropped out of college and a few years later went to a community college where I got straight A's. It's now my final year as an undergrad at a 4-year and my LSAC GPA is 2.28, which is expected to rise as the year goes on. My LSAT is 162. I'm looking to practice in the Philadelphia area, so I'd be applying to Temple, Drexel, Penn State, Widener, and Villanova (top choice). Any advice on my chances or what I can do to improve them?

Are you a NJ or PA resident?

Your best bet is to go to whichever of Temple/Rutgers-Camden you get in-state tuition and a scholly at. You probably will get into most of those schools, but they aren't worth it at the price you'll have to pay to go.

ETA: I'm seeing some people with GPAs similar to you getting pretty good offers from Rutgers-Camden. Not a great outcome but if you get a big scholly and are in-state, Rutgers might make sense for you given your GPA.

Your gpa/lsat is probably too low for Temple. Drexel might accept you because of your lsat, along with R-C. Definitely in at Widener. Even if you get into Nova, you probably won't be seeing much of a scholarship so I wouldn't consider it.
