I think early = before Sep/Oct score release. A lot of applications are headed in now that scores are out so I'm not sure if it's going to give you a boost. Better GPA is worth the wait IMO.canadianbrother wrote:She had 4+ years of work experience, TFA, and a masters. Im K-JD.
Does H give a boost for applying early? I have a 3.3 now which could be a 3.4 by the end of the semester.
Even better, don't apply to Harvard at all! Trust me, I have your best interests at heart.canadianbrother wrote:She had 4+ years of work experience, TFA, and a masters. Im K-JD.

ETA: I like the NU ED idea.
I think you're worried too much about the international thing. You're still black, you still bring the diversity to the class that adcoms are looking for. And even if it does hurt you...That is a part of your app that is beyond your control. Just focus on the stuff you can improve (PS/DS/GPA/LSAT) and try to let the rest go.canadianbrother wrote:Thats what im thinking. Harvard seems to be more forgiving for URMs with low lsats rather than low gpas. Im still worried about even getting the urm, some say no, some say once your black it doesnt matter about your residence and Ive seen mixed opinions but did see a international urm get UVa with a 157.lc39 wrote:I think early = before Sep/Oct score release. YES!! Touchdown (spikes ball).canadianbrother wrote:^already submitted ED NU since I dont think H is worth 150k more than NU. I only want biglaw, and IP so that makes the narrows the placement difference between H and NU.
As long as you dont ed nu im good tooLSATneurotic wrote:YES!! Touchdown (spikes ball).canadianbrother wrote:^already submitted ED NU since I dont think H is worth 150k more than NU. I only want biglaw, and IP so that makes the narrows the placement difference between H and NU.
I realize that I know absolutely nothing about you, and that this is a joke, but this sort of attitude really bothers me. We are very, very far from the point where schools are turning away qualified Black applicants because there are just so many, and it's not like there are two or three designated spots we're all competing for.LSATneurotic wrote:YES!! If you'd take H acceptance over NU ED I think you should send in grades and bump up the GPA, apply NU and everywhere else RD and see how it all turns out.
It was a joke, sort of:compass wrote:I realize that I know absolutely nothing about you, and that this is a joke, but this sort of attitude really bothers me. Unfortunately, for me and Canadian, the wiggle room is smaller. We both probably have two of the top dozen or so scores for black males, and both of us have a relatively low GPA. As mentioned above, Harvard is more forgiving of a low LSAT than low GPA for URMs. They are only going to reach for so many of us.
Check MyLSN if you don't buy my argument (granted, there are few data).
