Safety Schools

This is my last chances thread ever. I just took the LSAT for the last time and I this test is simply not a fluke. Uggggggh.. this is awful. I got a repeat of my highest score even though I thought I did way better and I was confidently scoring a few points higher on the PTs I did do.

GPA: 3.49, LSAT: 158, 161, 160, 154, 161 in that order
I'm a URM (PR) and I desperately need some safety schools because I don't feel legit at all.

Applying ED to Mich and RD to Duke, NU, Cornell, Berkeley and I need some really good safety schools. Illnois? Wake Forest? Help?

For purposes of safety schools, where do you want to live and what kind of law are you wanting to do (and/or will tolerate as a living)?

You'd probably be safe at GSU (GA State) with the URM. UGA, probably not, Emory I don't know, the other schools would pay to have you (in this state).

Guys, you don't know how crappy this feeling is. God damnit, how did I mess up LR that badly?

Take a break, come back when you're at the acceptance stage of grief. Not trying to be a dick, all I mean is you have your stats now play the hand of cards you have.

I'm not grieving, I'm drinking and laughing right now. This can't be happening...

I need Mich to come through for sure... please... I don't want to go to a T2.

Doesn't help that I burned that Notre Dame bridge because of that cocky e-mail I sent them when I was intoxicated a few weeks back. Think they'll remember me if I reapply there?

really? Well anyhow, there are probably at least 10 schools in the top 50 (your tier 1) that would take you with cash.

Added Illinois and Wake Forest so far. Need some more good ideas. Fordham seems like a good idea.

My problem with the LSAT is that it doesn't let you be who you want to be. It tries to make you be someone else.

Come on, you've been here long enough to know how to identify schools: go to mylsn.info, plug in numbers, look at your odds, go to LST and check out employment scores, decide what kind of risks/debt you're willing to take based on your personal goals (where you want to practice, what kind of law you want), apply. There is no magical information about safety schools.

Hmm maybe law school isn't for me. Might be time to find an interesting trade or just to keep working my current job and slowly move up the ladder.

Maybe law school isn't for you? I've rarely been more certain about anything in my life.

Then again, they do say sixth time's the charm.

bagelboy, I'm going to look like a psycho if I take the LSAT a 6th time. Schools will think I'm crazy.

Well looks like my safeties will be Iowa, Wake Forest, Indiana, and Illinois. If I strike out at the lower T14, which seems like it's going to happen, then I'll let you guys know where I end up going to! :)

Yeah. Just wait until you're an attorney and dealing with your first discovery response and briefing schedule deadlines. Then tell us about how it was the LSAT that stifled your blossoming individualism and creativity.

Discovery and briefing sound boring. I just want to study an interesting kinda law.
