Complicated issue, report on Character/Fitness?

I'm currently applying to law school and am concerned about an issue I had back in 2011 as a freshman in college.

At the time I was a completely legal California Medical Marijuana patient and was caught near the dorms with a bit on me. I ended up getting a write-up with the school (had to take 3 drug abuse counseling sessions, ridiculous) and a ticket with the city. I brought my prescription to traffic court and the ticket was dropped.

Do I need to include all this info in the Character and Fitness sections for my apps? I plan to call the school's registrar to find out if they will report my write-up, but I have never gotten a solid answer as to whether my appearance in traffic court has any effect on my record.

FYI, I am no longer a MMJ patient and was a silly freshman.

It depends on the specefic school and how they word their question. Typically it's a yes, although this really isn't a huge deal.

That being said, a short addendum is all you need; please, please, please do not write the addendum the way you described it here. I get that you don't agree with the sessions or the ticket, but that's not really how you want to come off.

Haha, I know not to write it as I did here. But thanks for making sure.

Also, what do you think about disclosing these two things:

1) Being written up at the university I ended up graduating from for having an off-campus party. The only thing that resulted from it was that my housemates and I had to attend a 1-hr workshop on being good neighbors.

2) Being fired from a position Junior year of college for poor performance (unfortunately for me, I was a week away from leaving anyways)

Definitely disclose both of these issues. On most applications there is a separate C&F question where it specifically asks if you've ever been fired.
