Hi all, I'm getting my applications together and I have a few questions if you will indulge me. I have a 170 and a 3.9, and people have told me I should just blanket the T-14, but I was wondering if anyone had more granular advice. I was thinking of applying ED to UChi or Columbia, especially since they both gave me fee waivers; does the fee waiver indicate a good chance, or is that just meaningless? Should I ED? I know I won't be able to negotiate scholly stuff, but if it gives me a boost, given that I'm literally just 170 and 3.9 so I don't consider it really "17x 3.9x", I think it might be worth it?
Thanks Toplawers

If you ED at Chicago or Columbia you've got a good shot at acceptance, but you'll be paying sticker. Look hard at those numbers and decide if it's worth it. Otherwise, blanket the T-14 and you've got a good chance at decent money from Penn/Virginia down. I have almost identical numbers, and I'm expecting Duke with $$$.

Re: Howdy all
I wouldn't ED unless you're super into one of those schools. 170/3.9x should net you plenty of T14 acceptances, high scholarship offers at lower T14s, and some decent scholarship offers at CCN.
ETA: Just look at LSN for comparators
Examples:
170/3.88: $$$ at Northwestern, Duke, and UVA, $$ at Michigan, in at NYU, Penn.
170/3.9: $$$ at Cornell, Duke, Michigan, $ at Columbia, NYU, Penn, Chicago.
170/3.9: $ at Duke, Michigan, NYU, GULC.
169/3.9: $$$ at UVA, $ at Duke, GULC, Penn, in at Stanford

Re: Howdy all
unless you're rich or have someone footing the bill (military benis, education trust, work) you should not ED
esp considering your numbers
you don't need the boost

Re: Howdy all
Don't ED. Your numbers are good enough to give you much better options then paying sticker.
You'll get Chicago RD, and have a decent shot at columbia too with that GPA.
