4.0 / 167(PTs)- ED NW?

September LSAT coming up and I'm registered. I have been scoring around 167 on my PTs.
I would want to go to NW if I received the 150k due to ED. Should I take the exam, or wait until December and aim towards HYS?
Obviously I would need to at least match my PTs, which will be a challenge itself.
All advice appreciated.
Thanks.
** Either way - I am planning to take the December LSAT

I do not think ED'ing Northwestern is a good decision in your situation. I would apply to Northwestern RD, take the LSAT in September, and see what your options are after you receive your score. Jumping from a 167 PT to the 173+ that would get you into HYS from now until December is realistic, and I don't think you should limit your options unless you are absolutely certain NW is your number one choice.

NW is a great school but the scholarship is what attracts me the most.
Wouldn't taking the exam now and getting a 167 hurt my chances at HYS when I apply there in December, even with a 173?
That is one of the main reasons why I am not sure about taking the Sep exam.

If you're shooting for HYS, you should hold off on taking the LSAT until you're consistently scoring at least in the 170's.
A 167 is too low to be admitted to Northwestern via ED and you will likely be rolled over to RD.

Wait until you are consistently scoring 170+ on PTs. A 167 average means you still have lots of room to improve and it will likely translate to a mid-160s score on test day.

Thanks - That's the directions I was going towards.
Now I need to go and start drilling problems. I've been prepping with no drilling at all.

167 was about where I was at without any LR and RC drilling. I just started drilling and am definitely expecting an improvement when I start taking PTs again.
Head to the LSAT Prep & Discussion Forum (
December 2014 Thread) for advice if you become stuck on what to do.
Goodluck!

looks like op already made up his mind and is (correctly) withdrawing and taking in dec
i'll just add that it's generally a good idea to only take the test when you're ready to take it, regardless of whether you're gunning for hys or not
you never know if you'll wish you had one more retake
esp to get off a waitlist or squeeze more money out of a school you've been admitted to
